Hana Kimi: Revisted

Ikuta! Hold Sano back! He’s drunk again! Wooooh that was close! Hey readers, this week’s drama post is about a Japanese drama named Hana Kimi or, For You in Full Bloom. What can I say? This is the second drama I have ever watched. This drama broadcasted from July 33rd 2007 to September 18th. There are 12 episodes and 1 special (episode 13).

So! Where to start? In the beginning the lead character, Ashiya Mizuki (played by Horikita Maki) is followed by some thugs and is saved by the one and only high jump champion, Sano Izumi (played by Oguri Shun). Because of the injury that Sano suffers while saving Ashiya in the states, she decides to travel to Japan from California to help jump start her track role model into jumping again. There is only one problem, the school that Sano attends in Japan, Osaka Gakuen,  is an all boys school. As a result, Ashiya pretends to be a boy so that she is able to help Sano jump again. While attending Osaka Gakuen, Ashiya meets many new friends who help her through school and becomes involved with Nakatsu Shuichi (played by Ikuta Toma) who becomes confusingly interested in the male Ashiya.

I am a sucker for a good romantic comedy which makes this drama one of my favorites. There is never a moment when there isn’t comedy, romance or both. The actors also do a really great job and play  their part very well. Although, I do have to say that this drama gets a little frustrating and maybe a little bit annoying, but that’s all part of the comedy.  This drama is also overly cheesy at times, but it’s definitely on purpose and very enjoyable. This drama also has many interesting characters! By the end of the drama, there won’t be a character that you don’t enjoy watching; all of the students at the school get their equal part in the drama and have some influence in the storyline.  Overall, it is a very cute drama that will be hard to forget and not love. J I recommend this drama very much, giving it 9 out of 10 stars.
