M-M-MABUSHI! Hello readers! As you
can see, the first drama that I am going to talk about is the Japanese drama,
The Wallflower, also known as, Yamato Nadeshiko Shinchi Henge or Perfect Girl
Evolution. This is the very first drama that I watched and I would have to give
it an 8 out of 10 stars. This drama’s release date was, January 15th-March
19th, 2010, so you could say that it is a fairly recent drama. There
are only 10 episodes within the series and each episode is about an hour long.
This drama is full of comedy and romance! The story is about
a girl named Sunako Nakahara (played by Aya Omasa) and her eccentric way of
living. Sunako is quite literally a wallflower and is someone who doesn’t make
much contact with the outside world and its inhabitants. One day, she is put
into a house of 4 attractive young men that her aunt owns and is renting out to
them. The 4 boys are: Yukinojo Toyama- the “the cutesy” boy of the group-
played by Yuya Tegoshi, Takenaga Oda-The more calm and down to earth one who
follows family traditions- played by Hiroki Uchi, Ranmaru Morii –the womanizer
of the group- played by Shuntaro Miyao, and last but most certainly not least,
Kyohei Takano- the “best looking” and “coolest” of the group that has a
rebellious attitude- played by Kazuya Kamenashi.
There
are many twists and turns in the story because the four young men are assigned
to help Sunako become a real lady, or else they will get kicked out of the
house by Sunako’s aunt who owns the place they stay at. Do not fret! The
romance and comedy are very well balanced within the series; there isn’t an
episode that doesn’t have either one. J
And, a slight warning, the drama is a little bit cheesy at times but it adds to
the comedy.
The
last thing I want to talk about is that this drama does not follow the manga or
anime directly or you could even say at all. You have the basic story line of
an eccentric girl, but in the drama there are new characters that are added to
make the drama flow and make more sense. So be warned if you are looking for a
drama that directly follows the anime or manga.~ Rayne-Ssi
